How does it work?

HotMedia files are served from standard HTTP servers and require no plug ins. HotMedia dynamically determines which players are needed and downloads them "just-in-time". The data (images, animations, etc.) are downloaded progressively, so that the user experience begins right away, without waiting for the entire file to be received.
