eMCee™ (Motion Control Software)

In addition to great hardware, our software philosophy is one thing that sets Kaidan apart. We recognize and embrace the fact that there are a number of software developers who can provide innovative solutions and add value to Kaidan products. Towards that end we have created our eMCee Motion Control Software.

eMCee relies on an easy-to-use interface to control the movement of the turntable and also the camera aroound the object. eMCee can control every Kaidan motorized product, from the Magellan Desktop Turntable-MDT-19 to the Meridian MT-84. eMCee provides simple motion control and time delay control for capturing photos manually. It can also, via AppleScript or Windows eMCee script, provide a completely automated capture setup.

Kaidan has taken a unique approach by offering a completely open architecture with our current and planned motorized products. We do this by publishing the Kaidan VR Device SDK. The SDK contains the programming interfaces and the low-level serial commands to control any of our motorized devices. Programs like VRObjectWorx have used the SDK to add Kaidan motorized support directly into their application.

For the Macintosh platform, eMCee supports AppleScript, with an extensive dictionary of commands, allowing the user flexiblity in creating custom motion control routines. For Windows users, we have added an internal scripting capability to the Windows version of eMCee . This allows for the similar customization of eMCee on the Windows platform as on the Macintosh.

A usefull tool for centering an object on the turntable. Go_to_Pos_Script.hqx: An Apple Script that allows the user to input a specific location in degrees for the turntable to move to.
Develop	Use Kaidan’s VR Device SDK to let your application directly control Kaidan motorized turntables and object rigs.
